St. Patrick's Day...

Nathan's vocabulary...

Nathan has such a neat way of looking at things. It's amazing to listen to him and see how he interprets things...movies, shows, music, etc. Like most children, he likes to use the words that he hears us say or ones he's picked up from shows or movies. Some are big words, some times their bad words, but either way he usually uses them correctly when he says them. It's just really neat to see the little wheels turning in his head. Here are a couple things that have made me giggle recently...

1)After I found Nathan hiding in his tunnel playing his Leapster game, he said to me..."Mommy, I wanted to hide from you so that you don't extract me!" (extract = distract)

2)Anytime a new toy or game comes with literature he'll bring it to me (or Ben) and ask..."Mommy, can you read the erections?"

3)He calls a Popsicle a "popstickle"

In additon to his efforts in expanding his vocabulary he's come across a few phrases he'll say often. Here are just a few...

1)"You're a nice mommy, you remember that..."

2)After he passes gas... "Did you hear that bullfrog?"

3) If I apologize for losing my patience with him..."That's ok Mommy, you can try harder next time!

I know there are lots more, I just can't think of them all right now. I'll be sure to share them when I do.

Our Jekyll Island Day trip...

On Saturday, Ben and I headed to Jekyll Island, GA, for the day. As part of Ben's birthday gift I made reservations for us to go on a Segway tour of the island. For those who don't know what a Segway is, well it's the dorkiest mode of transportation you can find. Well, that and the smart car. And if we didn't feel like dorks on them enough, helmets were added as a precautionary. Dorkiness aside, we had a really fun time. Hope you enjoy!

First we had to learn to ride them. Ben went first...

Ben gets "boom boom" lessons from tour guide Karen...

That is Oscar across the way...

This is Felix, about 5 feet away...

We went on about 5 miles of trails, as well as along the beach. There were so many beautiful things to see and the weather was perfect...

Aww, this wasn't a cheesy pose at all...
We had a great day together...

I love this photo...

This photograph means a lot to me, as do the people in it.
There is a lot of love in this photo.

Brayden trying to stand up...

My friend Nikki took these at the playground the other day. Brayden just learned to stand up on his own. He would usually crawl to the nearest wall or ottoman etc to stand up, but he finally figured out how to do it on his own. As you can see though, he still struggles a little...

In this photo, he just fell down and isn't very happy about it.

steady, steady...

and we're off...

Brayden's Mickey Mouse Birthday Party...

It turned out to be a beautiful day for Brayden's birthday party. As usual I didn't get a lot of photos. What I did take are here, along with ones supplied by my friend Nikki. Thanks to everyone for making his day so special!

My attempt at hand making the invites...

I wrote in chalk all the kids names that were coming to the party on the sidewalk. I heard the kids thought it was really cool to find their name.

My friend Heather did an awesome job on the Mickey cupcake cake!
She is so talented. Everyone loved it! Thanks Heather!

I ran out of time on the decor but I think it still looked cute.

My plan was to paint Mickey Mouse and all of his friends. As you can see, I only finished Mickey and pluto...

My ball pit idea didn't really turn out as planned, so we gave in and rented a bounce house. I think the kids had a lot of fun in it.

Brayden and pal Jacob were feeding eachother...

Friends Lilli, Jamison and Alana...Notice Lilli in her adorable Minnie outfit, so cute!

Cake time!

Nate's pal Dru enjoying his cupcake!

Opening gifts...

After everyone left, this is where we found Brayden. He was just hanging out. I guess he was pretty pooped.
